| CVE-2026-116673 | 1 Sebhildebrandt | 1 Systeminformation | 2026-10-27 | 3.3 Low |
| systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js. Prior to 5.33.14, the Linux networkStats(iface) implementation uses the caller-supplied interface value in an fs.existsSync() check and to build /sys/class/net/<iface> paths, including the operstate path, without verifying that it is a single interface-name segment or that the resolved path remains under /sys/class/net. An attacker who can control iface and create a directory containing symlinked statistics files can use parent-directory components and symlink traversal to make the API return the first line of a file readable by the Node.js process. The package does not expose a network endpoint, and the demonstrated scenario requires local filesystem setup. This issue is fixed in version 5.33.14. | ||||
| CVE-2026-116576 | 1 Sebhildebrandt | 1 Systeminformation | 2026-10-26 | 7.8 High |
| systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js. Prior to 5.33.16, services() in lib/processes.js inserts a caller-supplied service name into a PowerShell Get-CimInstance filter after processing it with sanitizeShellString() in lib/util.js. On Windows, the sanitizer removes ASCII quotes but permits Unicode quotation marks that PowerShell accepts as string delimiters, allowing crafted input to terminate the filter and place a PowerShell expression in the command executed by util.powerShell(). The expression runs with the Node.js process account's permissions and may read or change accessible files, alter application data, or disrupt the service. The package does not expose a network service itself, so remote reachability depends on a consuming application forwarding attacker-controlled input to services() or getDynamicData(). This issue is fixed in version 5.33.16. | ||||
| CVE-2026-44724 | 1 Sebhildebrandt | 1 Systeminformation | 2026-08-28 | 7.8 High |
| systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js. From 4.17.0 to 5.31.5, on Linux, systeminformation is vulnerable to command injection in networkInterfaces() when an active NetworkManager connection profile name contains shell metacharacters. The vulnerable value is obtained internally from real nmcli device status output. The library sanitizes the network interface name before using it in shell commands, but it does not apply equivalent sanitization to the parsed NetworkManager connection profile name. That unsanitized connectionName is then interpolated into three shell command strings executed through execSync(). This vulnerability is fixed in 5.31.6. | ||||
| CVE-2026-50289 | 2 Sebhildebrandt, Systeminformation | 2 Systeminformation, Systeminformation | 2026-07-20 | 8.8 High |
| systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js. Prior to 5.31.7, networkInterfaces() on Linux is vulnerable to OS command injection through the Debian/Ubuntu interfaces(5) source directive because lib/network.js checkLinuxDCHPInterfaces() reads /etc/network/interfaces, extracts a source <path> token from file content, and interpolates it unquoted into cat ${file} 2> /dev/null | grep 'iface\|source' executed by execSync(cmd, util.execOptsLinux), allowing a path containing shell metacharacters to execute commands in any process that calls networkInterfaces(), including via getStaticData() and getAllData(). This issue is fixed in version 5.31.7. | ||||
| CVE-2026-26318 | 2 Sebhildebrandt, Systeminformation | 2 Systeminformation, Systeminformation | 2026-04-18 | 8.8 High |
| systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js. Versions prior to 5.31.0 are vulnerable to command injection via unsanitized `locate` output in `versions()`. Version 5.31.0 fixes the issue. | ||||
| CVE-2026-26280 | 2 Sebhildebrandt, Systeminformation | 2 Systeminformation, Systeminformation | 2026-04-17 | 8.4 High |
| systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js. In versions prior to 5.30.8, a command injection vulnerability in the `wifiNetworks()` function allows an attacker to execute arbitrary OS commands via an unsanitized network interface parameter in the retry code path. In `lib/wifi.js`, the `wifiNetworks()` function sanitizes the `iface` parameter on the initial call (line 437). However, when the initial scan returns empty results, a `setTimeout` retry (lines 440-441) calls `getWifiNetworkListIw(iface)` with the **original unsanitized** `iface` value, which is passed directly to `execSync('iwlist ${iface} scan')`. Any application passing user-controlled input to `si.wifiNetworks()` is vulnerable to arbitrary command execution with the privileges of the Node.js process. Version 5.30.8 fixes the issue. | ||||
