CVSS v3.1 |
| A flaw in Node.js TLS hostname verification allows a certificate with only a DNS SAN to authenticate an IP endpoint when the client connects using a non-canonical IPv4 spelling, such as `0177.0.0.1`, `0x7f.0.0.1`, `2130706433` or `127.1`.
`tls.checkServerIdentity()` did not classify these hosts as IP addresses, but normalized them to their canonical form and matched the result against the certificate DNS names. A certificate containing `DNS:127.0.0.1` and no `IP Address:127.0.0.1` SAN was therefore accepted, while the same certificate is correctly rejected for `127.0.0.1`. Exploitation requires a certificate with a numeric DNS SAN issued by a CA trusted by the client, and a platform resolver that accepts these spellings, such as glibc.
This vulnerability affects Node.js **26.x**, **24.x**, and **22.x**. |
| A flaw in Node.js TLS hostname verification can cause a server certificate to be validated against a different IP address than the one the client connected to, when the host is a non-canonical IPv4 literal with a leading zero, such as `0127.0.0.1`.
`tls.checkServerIdentity()` normalizes the host following the WHATWG URL rules, which read a leading-zero octet as octal (`0127.0.0.1` becomes `87.0.0.1`), while the connection is made through the operating system resolver, which on some platforms such as macOS reads it as decimal (`127.0.0.1`). A server at the connected address can then be authenticated with a certificate issued for another IP address.
This vulnerability affects Node.js **26.x**, **24.x**, and **22.x**. |
| Traefik 2.11.0 before 2.11.58 and 3.0.0 before 3.7.14 stores its NTLM/Kerberos backend round tripper in a client-connection slot not keyed by ServersTransport, so one service's TLS client configuration is reused for another service's backend. An unauthenticated client can arm the slot via a backend issuing an NTLM or Negotiate challenge, then reach another service on the same keep-alive connection, bypassing its root CAs, server name, and certificate verification. |
| OpenBao from 2.5.0 before 2.6.2 fails to enforce the PKI role allowed_ip_sans_cidr restriction on IP SANs taken from a CSR when use_csr_sans is enabled. Authenticated callers with sign permission can submit a CSR with an out-of-range IP SAN to pki/sign/<role> and obtain CA-signed certificates for unauthorized IPs. |
| PHP's OpenSSL stream peer verification checks the certificate's subjectAltName entries first and, whenever no entry matches, falls back to the Common Name. RFC 6125 requires the CN to be ignored once the certificate presents any service identity, so a certificate carrying a non-matching DNS SAN was still accepted when its CN matched the requested peer_name. A certificate trusted by the client for one name can therefore be used to impersonate another. |
| Apache Traffic Server can resume a TLS session across SNI virtual hosts without re-verifying a client certificate required by the resumed host's verify_client STRICT policy.
This issue affects Apache Traffic Server: from 8.0.0 through 8.1.11, from 9.0.0 through 9.2.15, from 10.0.0 through 10.1.4, 10.2.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 9.2.16, 10.1.5, or 10.2.1, which fix the issue. |
| Apache Traffic Server's default outbound session-sharing policy can reuse a pooled TLS session authenticated with one client certificate for a transaction configured to present a different one.
This issue affects Apache Traffic Server: from 9.0.0 through 9.2.15, from 10.0.0 through 10.1.4, 10.2.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 9.2.16, 10.1.5, or 10.2.1, which fix the issue. |
| Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability in the WebSocket streaming client in agentjido req_llm allows an on-path attacker to read and modify OpenAI WebSocket sessions, including the authorization bearer token, via a TLS certificate the client does not trust. ReqLLM.Streaming.WebSocketSession.Client.start/3 in lib/req_llm/streaming/web_socket_session/client.ex starts WebSockex without TLS options, and WebSockex defaults to insecure: true, which connects with verify: :verify_none. The option allowlist also drops any caller-supplied cacerts or ssl_options, so an application cannot turn verification on.
The OpenAI Responses, Realtime, and Codex WebSocket paths reach this client and send the API key or OAuth access token in the authorization header. HTTP streaming through Finch and the HTTP/2 duplex session through Mint verify certificates and are not affected.
This issue affects req_llm: from 1.9.0 before 1.29.0. |
| Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability in the ssl application in Erlang/OTP allows a client that holds a certificate trusted by one SNI virtual host to authenticate to a second SNI virtual host on the same listener by resuming its TLS 1.2 session there.
A server that serves several SNI names from one listen socket through sni_fun or sni_hosts keeps one pre-TLS 1.3 session cache per listener and does not bind a cached session to the SNI name or client trust policy that established it. When an SNI option set switches to verify_peer without naming reuse_sessions, ssl_config:update_options/3 inherits the base listener's reuse_sessions value of true, so the default that disables reuse for client-authenticating servers does not apply. On an abbreviated handshake ssl_session:is_resumable/4 checks only that the cached session uses one of the current server certificates and carries some peer certificate, and never revalidates that certificate against the CA selected for the requested name. The names must share a server certificate, which is common with wildcard or multi-SAN certificates. TLS 1.3 does not use this cache and is not affected.
This issue affects OTP from OTP 18.0 before OTP 27.3.4.19, OTP 28.5.0.8, and OTP 29.1.2, corresponding to ssl from 7.0 before 11.2.12.14, 11.6.0.7, and 11.7.8. |
| OCO-Server is a self-hosted endpoint management application for computer inventory, software deployment, and mobile device management. Prior to 1.2.3,the Apple MDM enrollment endpoint `frontend/api-mdm.php` verifies the signed enrollment-request plist with `openssl_pkcs7_verify(..., PKCS7_NOVERIFY, ...)`. `PKCS7_NOVERIFY` disables signer certificate chain and trust validation, so the signature only has to be self-consistent with whatever certificate is embedded in the PKCS#7 blob. A self-signed certificate from an unrelated attacker is accepted. Because the endpoint trusts the `SERIAL` field taken from the unverified payload, anyone who knows a registered device's serial number can sign a forged plist (`SERIAL` = victim device, attacker-chosen `UDID`) with an arbitrary self-signed certificate; POST it unauthenticated to `/api-mdm.php/profile` (Content-Type: `application/pkcs7-signature`); and receive the victim device's freshly minted MDM identity: a certificate with `CN=<serial>` issued by the server's internal MDM device CA, bundled with its private key in a PKCS#12 payload inside the returned `.mobileconfig` enrollment profile. Additionally, the victim's `mobile_device` database row is silently overwritten with the attacker-supplied `UDID` (device-record hijack). With the stolen certificate and key, the attacker can impersonate the victim device on all subsequent MDM traffic (`/checkin`, `/mdm`, `/parameters`), which authenticate callers by the certificate CN (the serial number) via `checkSignature()` in the same file. This yields control over the victim device's MDM relationship: reading its management data, replacing its push token, and disrupting or redirecting its enrollment. Version 1.2.3 fixes the issue. |
| NT OneAPP developed by NewType Infortech has an Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability. Unauthenticated network-adjacent attackers can perform a man-in-the-middle attack by failing to validate the server certificate and the hostname, thereby intercepting or modifying communications between the application and the server. |
| FreeRDP from 2.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains an improper certificate validation vulnerability in its proxy that accepts untrusted target TLS certificates when no verification module is configured. Network-positioned attackers can intercept the proxy's outbound connection and present a self-signed, wrong-hostname certificate to impersonate the RDP target and receive proxied session data. |
| Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability in Drupal SAML SSO - Service Provider allows Adversary in the Middle (AiTM). This issue affects SAML SSO - Service Provider versions: from 0.0.0 to 3.2.0. |

| A vulnerability has been identified in Industrial Edge App Publisher (All versions < V1.27.9). The affected software does not properly validate the server certificate when initiating a TLS connection. This allows an attacker to intercept and relay communication (Man-in-the-Middle attack) and to spoof a trusted entity by interfering in the communication path between the client and the intended server. |
| On most platforms, Go uses the given system root certificates. However, in some narrower cases, the system trust stores may not be updated without further action. To defend against the narrower set of cases that may remain affected, a denylist was added in crypto/x509 to return an error when calling Verify with any of the known intermediate certificates that are no longer considered to be trustworthy. |
