CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb/client: fix chown/chgrp with SMB3 POSIX Extensions
Ownership (chown) and group (chgrp) modifications were being ignored when
mounting with SMB3 POSIX Extensions unless CIFS_MOUNT_CIFS_ACL or
CIFS_MOUNT_MODE_FROM_SID were also explicitly set.
Fix this by checking for posix_extensions in cifs_setattr_nounix() when
updating UID and GID, ensuring that id_mode_to_cifs_acl() is called to map
and set the ownership/group information on the server. |

Since rescue mount options will mark the full fs read-only, there should
be no new transaction triggered.
But during unmount we will evict all inodes, which can trigger a new
transaction, and triggers warnings on a heavily corrupted fs.
[CAUSE]
Btrfs allows new transaction even on a read-only fs, this is to allow
log replay happen even on read-only mounts, just like what ext4/xfs do.
However with rescue mount options, the fs is fully read-only and cannot
be remounted read-write, thus in that case we should also reject any new
transactions.
[FIX]
If we find the fs has rescue mount options, we should treat the fs as
error, so that no new transaction can be started. |

| A security vulnerability has been detected in Portabilis i-Educar up to 2.9.10. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the file app/Http/Controllers/AccessLevelController.php of the component User Type Handler. The manipulation leads to insecure inherited permissions. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploit has been disclosed publicly and may be used. Upgrading to version 2.12 can resolve this issue. The identifier of the patch is d53365e5656f6499a4deddf89d522814655f769d. It is advisable to upgrade the affected component. |
| Incorrect default permissions in the Windows installer of Progressive Robot hMailServer 6.0.0 through 6.3.6 allow a local authenticated user to run code as the mail server's high-privileged accounts when the product is installed in a folder whose permissions are inherited from a writable parent, such as the root of a drive. The installer places the server's programs in the Bin folder of the program folder and gives neither the program folder nor Bin any permissions of their own, so they inherit the parent's. Under the default location, Program Files, ordinary users receive only read and execute and the configuration is not affected; but the installer accepts any path without warning, and a program folder at the root of an NTFS volume inherits write access for a broad group - Authenticated Users (Modify) on a Windows client, Users (create files and folders) on Windows Server. A local user without administrator rights can then alter or replace the service program, which runs as LocalSystem or as the service's virtual account, or the programs an administrator runs elevated from Bin during setup and maintenance, or place a library in Bin that those programs load in place of the system copy, gaining code execution with those privileges. The default Program Files installation is not affected. |
| When fdescfs(4) was mounted in a jail with the "nodup" option, opening /dev/fd/N returned a descriptor that did not inherit FD_RESOLVE_BENEATH or the Capsicum capability rights of descriptor N.
A process in a jail that has received a directory file descriptor from another jail can use these techniques to escape the jail's filesystem root restriction. |
| SCM_RIGHTS file descriptor passing did not preserve FD_RESOLVE_BENEATH when a descriptor was transferred. A process could clear the restriction by sending the descriptor to itself over a Unix domain socket.
A process in a jail that has received a directory file descriptor from another jail can use these techniques to escape the jail's filesystem root restriction. |
| renameat(2) did not enforce FD_RESOLVE_BENEATH on its directory arguments. A jailed process could rename a directory relative to a restricted descriptor, then escape the jail root via fchdir(2). This requires the directory to reside on a filesystem that is also reachable from the jail's root.
A process in a jail that has received a directory file descriptor from another jail can use these techniques to escape the jail's filesystem root restriction. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: ip6_vti: require CAP_NET_ADMIN in the device netns for changelink
vti6_changelink() operates on at most two netns, dev_net(dev) and the
tunnel link netns t->net. They differ once the device is created in or
moved to a netns other than the one the request runs in. The rtnl
changelink path checks CAP_NET_ADMIN only against dev_net(dev), so a
caller privileged there but not in t->net can rewrite a tunnel that
lives in t->net.
Gate vti6_changelink() on rtnl_dev_link_net_capable() at its top,
before any attribute is parsed. |

smb: client: mask server-provided mode to 07777 in modefromsid
When modefromsid is active, parse_dacl() applies the server-provided
sub_auth[2] value from the NFS mode SID to cf_mode without masking to
07777. Apply the correct masking, same as in the read path. |
| Incorrect Default Permissions vulnerability in Apache Camel PQC component.
This issue affects Apache Camel: from 4.12.0 before 4.18.5, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.1.
When the component wrote generated key material to disk it did so with the permissions the process default umask produced, rather than restricting the file to its owner. On a host whose umask allows group or world read, the private key was therefore readable by other local accounts. The exposure is to a local party rather than to the remote sender that the Camel threat model treats as the primary adversary, which is why the severity is assessed low, but the consequence where it applies is complete: possession of the private key defeats every signature and key exchange the deployment performs with it.
Upgrade to Apache Camel 4.23.0, which fixes the issue. Users on the 4.18.x LTS releases stream should upgrade to 4.18.5. Users on the 4.22.x LTS releases stream should upgrade to 4.22.1. Key material is now written with owner-only permissions. For deployments that cannot upgrade immediately, place the key directory on a path only the service account can traverse, and tighten the process umask. Key material already written with permissive permissions should be treated as exposed and rotated. |
| Dell Alienware Command Center (AWCC), versions prior to 6.14.54.0, contain a Least Privilege Violation vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Elevation of Privilege and Denial of Service. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
powerpc: Do not restore KUAP in arch_exit_to_user_mode_prepare()
KUAP means kernel cannot touch user memory unless it explicitly is
enabled. In the kernel it should stay AMR_KUAP_BLOCKED. While returning
to userspace just before RFI, kernel should restore the user AMR value
back.
Looks like GENERIC_ENTRY might be treating arch_exit_to_user_mode_prepare()
as the last architecture step before returning to userspace.
commit bee25f97ad24 ("powerpc: Enable GENERIC_ENTRY feature")
therefore called kuap_user_restore() from that hook. But on PowerPC that
is too early. After irqentry_exit() / syscall_exit_to_user_mode() we
still run platform specific exit routines.
e.g. code snippets showing both exception handling and system call
handling as the callers of function arch_exit_to_user_mode_prepare()
which does kuap_user_restore(). The below path shows that calling
kuap_user_restore() is too early when called from
arch_exit_to_user_mode_prepare().
Exception handling in exceptions-64s.S

..DEFINE_INTERRUPT_HANDLER_ASYNC(do_page_fault)

arch_exit_to_user_mode_prepare(regs, ti_work); <<< too early
b interrupt_return_srr
.. bl CFUNC(interrupt_exit_user_prepare) <<< already calls kuap_user_restore
prep_irq_for_enabled_exit() retry can run kernel code with IRQs on. So
only when that routine is fully finished is when the user KUAP should be
fully restored which interrupt_exit_user_prepare() already takes care of
before returning.
Similarly for system call handling in interrupt_64.S
======================================================
bl CFUNC(system_call_exception)

syscall_exit_to_user_mode(regs); <<< too early
syscall_exit_to_user_mode_prepare(regs); <<< too early
kuap_user_restore(regs); <<< already calls
syscall_exit_prepare(), which can enable IRQs, replay a pending
interrupt, and only then rfi. Those functions already restore KUAP
immediately before rfi.
Note that if we restore the user AMR too early like in the current code
as shown from the code snippets above, then we get the following warning
when CONFIG_PPC_KUAP_DEBUG is enabled:

| obsidian-tc is a governed, agent-ready Model Context Protocol server for Obsidian vaults. Prior to 1.3.1, undefined readPaths and writePaths settings allow all paths, strictReadDefault does not protect direct requests, and the .obsidian, .git, and .trash control directories are excluded only during enumeration. An authenticated caller can directly read sensitive files such as .obsidian/plugins/*/data.json, potentially exposing plugin API keys, Obsidian Sync passwords, and other in-vault data. Version 1.3.1 fixes the vulnerability by denying the control directories by default and enforcing strictReadDefault on direct request paths. |
| When curl < 7.84.0 saves cookies, alt-svc and hsts data to local files, it makes the operation atomic by finalizing the operation with a rename from a temporary name to the final target file name.In that rename operation, it might accidentally *widen* the permissions for the target file, leaving the updated file accessible to more users than intended. |
| Vulnerability due to incorrect permissions in TSplus Remote Access shared login scripts. The autostart1.tscr files, located in the shared themes directory, allow users without sufficient privileges to write to them. A local attacker with a valid session on the terminal or remote desktop server could modify these files to execute arbitrary commands within another user’s security context when that user logs in using the same theme or operating mode. Depending on the affected user’s privileges, exploitation could allow lateral movement between users or privilege escalation. |
